Brazil - Florianapolis

On 2nd April we already moved on. would have liked to stay longer in Punta del Diablo but there is no ATM in this village.
Took a bus to Chuy and luckily we read some information on the internet. so we let the bus driver know to let us out at the immigration (la frontera), which is 1,5km before entering the town of Chuy to get our official stamp out of Uruguay. If you do not have the stamp you cannot enter Brazil.Otherwise the bus only stops in town and you have to walk back to get the stamp. As mentioned luckily we only had to walk one way with our backpacks. Thanks to the internet !
Chuy is the town of Uruguay with its twin town Chui right across the street in Brazil.
The main street is the actual border between Uruguay an Brazil.
On one site they are speaking Spanish and paying in Pesos and on the other side of the road paying in Real and speaking Portugese.
So here we are in Chuy or Chui - standing in the middle of the road that marks the border, you can be with one foot in one country and with the other foot in the other countryor with your hands... ;-)
For the time beeing until we took the next bus (stops and waits at Brazil immigration), we were in no-mans-land (or illegal in Brazil ???) as the immigration for Brazil is 2km out of the town of Chui.

We took a nightbus to Porto Alegre, then another bus to Florianapolis. Then two local buses to reach the little beach / fishermans town of Barra de Lagoa.
So we were quite a while on the road.
Santa Caterina / Florianapolis, the island has plenty of fantastic beaches.
Life´ s a beach!! Here it definitely is! We enjoyed the sun, wind, waves, sea and of course the beaches.
Originally we were going to spend only a few days here but ended up nearly a week.
It was just great and so relaxing! There are good waves if you want to surf.
One day we visited the Praia Moia beach, were everybody goes that wants to be seen, is a good surfer and likes to party. Also we went to Lagoa de Conception to have a look around and to walk along the lagoon.
Even not doing anything time passed by quickly.
