Bolivia - Tour day 1: Los Lipez Region

Our first impression from Bolivia: we are surprised, it is very nice.
The road from Villazon to Tupiza was excellent.
Tupiza itself is a nice little town. It is surrounded by mountains and lies on 3000m above sealevel.
To adjust ourself to the thin air and for the upcoming tour we stayed an extra day.
From here we will start the 4 day tour to reach the Salt Flats near Uyuni at the end. We booked the Tour with Tupiza tours, a well run agency.Tour includes driver, cook, meals and accomodation and a warm sleeping bag for the cold nights.
Before going, we bought some warm clothes on the market, coca leaves and coca tea (to help against altitute sickness).

Day 1: Los Lipez
Our group of 4 (us and two girls from Netherlands) left just after 8am.
Going in a Toyota Landcruiser with our Driver/ Spanish Guide Sebastian, who will take us to see spectacular and amazing landscapes over the next 4 days!
Despite it beening unpathed roads, it was mostly comfy.
Seen dried lava flowing down, fantastic scenery, changing vegetation while going higher and higher.
Seen lots of Llamas.
Stopped for lunch in a very small village that even had a church. With another group of 4 we also have a cook, Maria. She prepares all the meals for us.
Lhamas everywhere, but what we saw next we did not know they would live here, ostriches!
We cannot repeat to often how awsome the scenery is. From Mountains, strange formations, the roads we came on, mining areas, the flat altiplato, the many many Llamas, the ruins of a former goldtown San Antonio.
By late afternoon we reached the lagoon Morejon, 4855m above sealevel, our highes point of today.
The night we will spend in a very basic accomodation in a family home in Quetena Chico, approx 4200m.a.s.l
What an incredible first day!!!!!
